Description: Hands up for juicy old cuts! These stones are about as good as it gets when it comes to lovely, cushion cut, old mine stones. They are very white and super sparkly.
Age: c1850-60 Early to mid Victorian. The crimped collar settings would normally be leapt upon as an indicator that this might be a Georgian piece, but we're not in the business of mis-attributing! This style carried on well into the Victorian period and Georgian pieces are typically close backed. The cut of the diamonds is also later and is a pre-cursor to more modern cuts.
Size and weight: 4g total, 43mm drop including the diamond set bail, 28mm across.
Materials: Old cut diamonds, the smaller ones are a bit harder to grade but of the larger stones, we're struggling to find more than a couple of inclusions in total, and certainly none to the naked eye. The centre stone is the star of the show, the rest are very well matched but some are drawing a tiny bit of colour. Overall, these are some of the best old cuts we've seen. The largest stone is approx 0.65 carats so getting towards 4 carats overall - please ask for more measurements. Silver, Gold.
