Description: If you love opals, you're going to like this one! Fabulous stones full of fire. All the wonders of the universe! It can be worn as a brooch or a pendant - it has a gorgeous little flourish of workmanship inside to attach to a chain. Its a nice, small, dainty size and very wearable.
Age: c1910 Edwardian. The styling is moving away from Art Nouveau more towards La Belle Epoque and its typical of very early 20th Century design.
Size and weight: 3.8g. Dainty 3.6cm top to bottom,2cm across.
Materials: Natural opal, high carat gold (not x ray tested yet, to follow) and pearls.
Condition: Very good, there is a slight chip to the top opal - we had to look with a loupe to find it but it is there and needs to be noted. Its been over - cleaned in our opinion and would benefit from a bit of wear to mucky it up slightly! Clasp is nice and secure if you want to wear it as a brooch.
