Description: Sumptuous and silky, this large, specimen size (probably Siberian) amethyst does all the talking on this understated but striking pendant - it really is the most beautiful amethyst. The cut is quite unusual - the front facets only take up quite a small area of the stone and it has a big "table" which has been ever so slightly domed so it looks half way between a cabochon and faceted stone and with this large area catching the light from the deep back facets, you get an amazing play of light and colour - This has been hand cut by someone really skilled.
Age: Early to mid 20th century (although its impossible to be precise, it could be as early as 1900 and as late as 1960s!)
Size and weight: 15.67g 4.5cm Inc bale x 2.5cm across, its quite a deep stone 1.6cm front to back
Materials: 14-15ct gold, natural amethyst
Condition: Excellent, there is quite a large feather type inclusion in the stone which is hard to pick up on Camera. You have to go looking for it though in the right light, its not something you'd notice and these type of inclusions show its a natural stone.
