Description: Typical Victorian crescent brooch. These are usually converted to pendants and this one would work very well that way as the brooch fitting could be removed without leaving a trace. Given this one is in its original box we thought we'd give it a run out as a brooch first!
Age: c1890 Victorian
Size and weight: 7.2g. 3cm across. Largest ruby 4mm wide.
Materials: Gold, silver, natural rubies, all vary slightly in colour and clarity, some a little pink and some slightly peachy but are overall well matched, natural old cut diamonds.
Condition: Excellent, all settings secure, the box (which is in itself decrepit!) has done good job preserving it. Rollover clasp works perfectly.
