Description: It's hard to find old earrings, and these are certainly very old! I suppose the thing to do these days is to call them Georgian but we think it would be a little disingenuous to describe them as such. Certainly the diamonds are very old and a mixture of true rose cuts and some more random, early cuts but we feel on balance like these may have been put together a little later. The sapphires are really an interesting colour (and its nice that you can see the obvious, straight growth lines in the crystal), they're not perfectly matched and a little dark for our liking but all together its a really good, antique look.
Age: c1850 but could be earlier
Size and weight: 4.4g total, 2.2cm drop, 1.25cm wide
Materials: Teal sapphire, rose cut diamonds, gold (fineness TBC with x-ray testing)
Condition: Good, antique condition. It's possible that changes have been made over the years, eg the posts but all the stones look to be original. They're a little dirty as we tend to leave as found but we can clean and polish should you wish.
