Austro Hungarian Antique Green Pink Tourmaline & Enamel Brooch

Description: A really good example of its type with unusual and pretty enamelling. The stones are also really nice, we actually thought they were going to be paste as they are a very good colour but they are testing as gems, the green are tourmaline (which was mined in the area at the time) and the pinky red ones are either garnet or pink tourmaline, to date we've only done a quick test on a thermal conductivity meter to establish they are not paste, we'll get round to some more testing soon but anyway, guaranteed gems and not paste and a lovely example of AH work. Would make a lovely pendant if converted.

Age: c 1890 Victorian although could be a little older

Size and weight: 10.3g 4.3cm x 3.7cm

Materials: Silver, green and pink tourmaline, enamel.

Condition: Very good. Silver has an antique patina, would look quite different if dipped and polished (not recommended)
