Description: A very good quality chain with all the bells and whistles! Very rare to find bi-colour chains that are platinum and 18ct gold, in fact this is the only one we've ever seen, on top of that, a very popular and commercial style of long links, an 18ct dog clip (see what these cost, if you can find one on its own!) and its marked 18ct & Plat and finally a really nice little 18ct bolt ring. The thing to do here is sell the dog clip separately but we just don't have the heart - its such a good and rare piece of jewellery.
Age: c1920 - We've said Art Deco as this sort of clean, precise work looks later than most chains and Alberts. Also the use of platinum places it into the 20th century.
Size and weight: 14.2g, 14" - each link approx 1.6cm 3mm wide, Then there are little attaching loops, the dog clip and clasp and some extending loops. It could be easily extended by adding more of these.
Materials: 18ct Gold, very soft rose/yellow colour, platinum. Maker's mark JG&S
Condition: Excellent. Dog clip nice and springy, bolt ring at about 70" of springyness!
