Please enquire - French Cornflower Blue Large 9+ Carat Sapphire Diamond Halo Ring in 18ct White Gold

Description: This is kind of like the "Lady Di" ring but with a lighter blue sapphire. We love the 9.64 (approx) carat cornflower blue colour in this mid century French cocktail ring.

This stone has been sent to RW Weare & co (a stone dealer/lab that the trade use who give realistic valuations/market appraisals, not silly, insurance valuations and it comes with a card from them certifying the sapphire). Their appraisal was that this is a Sri Lankan (Ceylon) sapphire and has had no heat treatment. There is quite a large zone with very little colour and the cutter has got the most out of the stone. On the plus side its rare to find an un treated sapphire this large and overall its a very pleasing stone. As sapphires go they valued it at the low end of the value range for sapphires these days @ £450 + VAT per carat (that is what they would charge for the stone if they owned it and I was buying it from them - if it was one colour grade up you'd be looking at over £20k for the stone!) but that still means its a £5-6000 stone without taking into account the diamonds (which are really just accent stones, they don't hold a lot of value these days), the 18ct gold and the work that has gone into making it. So on paper, the component parts are worth £7000 or so. But honestly, i don't feel like this is a £7000 ring so we're offering at below the value of the stone. That's because its only a theoretical value until someone has paid that! If Weares owned the stone they'd offer it for sale at £6000, sure, but its not a stone they probably would buy in the first place if that makes sense?  So its expensive but it really is a bargain. A lot of info here but i wanted to share my thought process and be very open with people.

Age: c1960s but a timeless design and could be 20 years earlier or later.

Size and weight: 6.9g. UK size N US 6.5. Can potentially be re-sized, please ask before ordering.

Materials: 18 carat white gold, natural diamonds, cornflower blue sapphire. The sapphire is displaying some colour zoning where natural growth lines alternate from darker to lighter so colour is not saturated the same all the way through. Its 15x11x7mm making it over 9 carats.
