Description: Really nice example of Italian (probably Florentine) Pietra dura work from the late 19th century with a handy locket back for a photo or lock of hair. These type of items make nice, wearable collectibles that couldn't be made today. These were also made in Ashford in the Peak District but we feel sure that this one is Italian. This type of work is remarkable, it looks like a very detailed oil painting but its all done in stone - A work of art!

Size and weight: 11.5g 5.5cm to top of bail x 3.3cm wide
Materials: Belgian black slate, coloured marble, silver, glass.
Condition: Excellent. We've left the tarnish on the silver frame but this would polish up nicely. A good clean example with no losses.
