Cute Jugendstil / Art Nouveau Opal Garnet Brooch Pin

Description: Very much in the German Art Nouveau (or Jugendstil) style but with British 9ct mark - it was common for jewellers to borrow design cues but this one is slightly unusual as British Art Nouveau tends to copy the French style if anything. The opal here is wonderful and the little collet set garnets swing away happily underneath. 

Age: c1905 Art Nouveau

Size and weight: 1.6g, its hollow not solid. 3.1cm x 1.1cm

Materials: 9ct gold, base metal pin, natural Australian crystal opal, garnet

Condition: Very good, the clasp is a little loose when fastened but is secure once worn.
