Description: Such a funky a little fellow! Beautifully made vinaigrette which twists open to reveal a compartment with the original sponge - this would have been soaked in aromatic vinegars and sealed inside and would have offered some sweet relief from the pongy streets of Britain! Today it could be used as a locket or pill box or just worn as an interesting piece of social history and jewellery!
Age: Birmingham hallmarks for 1900. Maker's mark is worn and there is an old registration or catalogue number.
Size and weight: 5.35g 2.5cm diameter
Materials: 9ct rose gold (full hallmarks), turquoise.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, some of the turquoises have changed from blue to green as they do when exposed to the oils in the skin.
