Description: Fab Georgian cross. We think that this is rock crystal (quartz) with purple foils rather than amethyst; its hard to know for sure as amethyst is just purple quartz but on viewing from the side, the top of the crystals are clear. Amethysts were used to show devotion and would be an obvious choice so the jeweller may have cheated a bit here if he couldn't get his hands on any!

Size and weight: 6.2g. 5.5cm inc bail x 3.2cm.
Materials: Silver with marks on the bail rubbed, Rock crystal, foil
Condition: Good, there is a slight defect to the left side stone, not noticeable unless carefully scrutinised.
