Murrle Bennett Gold Arts & Crafts Turquoise Brooch Pendant in 15ct Gold

Description: Likely retiled by Liberty, a typical art nouveau, arts and crafts brooch (with possibly later applied gold pendant bale). The oval MB mark on the pin is too worn to see properly and there's also the remnants of a 15ct mark.  

Age:  c1900

Size and weight: 4.8g 4cm x 3.5cm including bail

Materials: 15ct gold, turquoise

Condition: Good antique condition, its possible that the bale (pendant fitting) is later, if so its a perfect match colour wise and it could well be original. When looking with a loupe, underneath the main turquoise is slightly messy - it looks like these 2 sections may originally have been joined. Anyway, something has gone on here but again, its not something you can see unless you look up very close and we'll never know exactly what's happened here!
