Description: Rich, buttery high carat gold Victorian earrings. A lot of technically very difficult Etruscan revival techniques on show here! They do have some condition issues (please see below) which has been reflected in the price.
Age: c1870 Victorian Etruscan Revival. Converted to earrings later.
Size and weight: 2.19g total weight, 1.5cm diameter
Materials: High carat gold (c18ct acid tested) later 9ct gold posts.
Condition: Fair to good antique condition. They look to have been converted from something else, possibly hatpins or buttons and there is evidence of this to the reverse. Some of the bobbles around the edge on one earring particularly are discoloured and are possibly replacements made of lower carat gold - please see pics, we've tried to make these as ugly as possible! They are hollow and one has a ding (luckily to the reverse). The posts are later 9ct examples. When worn, looking with the naked eye you can't see any of these condition issues but please make yourself aware that they are imperfect.
