Description: Classic Pforzheim school brooch, the plique a jour (literally "let in the day") enamel is very hard to make and the design is a mix of German Jugendstil and French art nouveau. A very sweet and wearable pin. Its in the style of Heinrich Levinger but many jewellers were working in Pforzheim, Germany in these materials and in this style so we've not pinned it down to a maker.
Age: c1905
Size and weight: 3.87g 3.5cm
Materials: 935 silver marked STERL S (although it is actually a bit better than sterling which is 925/1000 silver). Paste stones, green enamel.
Condition: Very good, when held up to the light a few small stress cracks can be seen in the enamel but all panels are present and its very hard to see this with the naked eye.
