Description: A pretty and unusual stickpin with a rare chrysoberyl teardrop stone. We can include the very nice velvet box.
Age: c1850 Victorian, its possible that its a fragment converted from an earlier piece.
Size and weight: 1.95g not inc box, 1.8cm top to bottom , 1.3cm widest point
Materials: Main body of pin c15ct gold, pin testing as 9ct gold with a higher carat plating on top. Chrysoberyl. Almandine garnet
Condition: Good antique condition, possibly a conversion, a bit of debris/black pitch like material near the top on the reverse but doesn't seem to be causing any harm. The higher carat plating on the actual pin is worn revealing the lower 9ct gold pin. Top is a little dusty and scratched but not so you'd notice (we can give it a clean and polish on request)
