This is more of a cabinet or museum piece really and as well as containing nearly £3500 in gold (were it ever melted down) it showcases just about every skill in a good jewellers armoury. The enamelling particularly is lovely, especially the little cat! Its beautifully hand engraved to the reverse "Presented to Alderman Fred Lee J.R. Mayor of Coventry 1926-1928 by the corporation 9th November 1928)
