Description: This one has everything! Very pretty little girl in her Sunday best, exquisitely painted set into a high carat gold and pearl frame. Interesting that she's wearing a blue bow in her hair - in the late 19th century or early 20th century when this was made, pink was considered a masculine, strong colour for boys whilst blue (associated with the virgin Mary) was seen as feminine. You'll often see 19th century portraits with the colours flipped compared to todays sensibilities!
Age: c1900 -1910
Size and weight: 24.45g (not inc box) 5cm x 4.5cm
Materials: Portrait miniature, high carat gold frame (not yet XRF tested but at least 15ct possibly 18ct), pearls, actual pin is 9ct, glass, safety chain not tested.
Condition: Excellent, pearls all good and appear to be original. Its in the box in which we found it which is later but a very nice box.
