Description: Beautifully, deep silky antique amethysts showcased within a lovely, rich buttery gold ornate setting. Box shown is included in the sale.
Age: c1840 Late Georgian, William IV, Early Victorian. No hallmarks as is often the case with antique pieces.
Size and weight: Size US 7, UK O, 2.13g , middle stone 0.7cm x 0.5cm
Materials: Very obviously high carat gold, at this point we've only tested with acid and can confirm minimum 18ct gold. Natural amethysts probably Siberian.
Condition: Seems to be in almost unworn condition, it looks as though it has been re-sized though at some point as there is an area on the shank where possible a tiny bit of extra metal has been put in. The stones are secure, the side stones are ever so slightly loose and a couple of the claws are slightly smaller but everything is secure. The back of the setting is not as precise as a modern ring but again is not presenting any issues.
