Description: 12ct gold was a standard in the UK for quite a while but it almost never comes up - you could see 1000 rings before you came across a 12ct one. This one is quite early and may originally have had a locket back.
Age: 1868 Birmingham hallmark
Size and weight: 1.46g 6.25 or M . Head is approx 1cm x 1.5cm
Materials: 12ct gold (marked 12 and unusually 0.5 rather than 0.50), almandine garnet, green stone - too small and scuffed to test so assume paste.
Condition: Good antique condition, the central green stone is scuffed and scratched and very small so its practically impossible to test. Possibly started life with a locket back. May have been re-sized and is a little scruffy inside the shank. One or two little claws are a little worn but all settings are secure.
