Description: A lovely quality silver and diamond paste necklace very much in the French taste. These days it would be described as "Georgian" as nearly everything antique is these days! We don't think this one is quite as old as that although it's certainly antique and displays some Georgian features.
Age: We're more au fait with English paste jewellery which is much easier to date so we're going to give a wide margin of error and say first half 19th century.
Size and weight: 35.4g 39cm 15.35" Main pendant hanging section 4cm x 2.5cm
Materials: Silver (section near clasp is marked for 800 grade silver - this may be a later replacement clasp and section of chain, we've not tested the fineness of silver, ie 800 or 925 so assume 800, European silver standard, paste
Condition: Very good antique condition. Clasp and end fittings etc are possibly later replacements.
