Description: Exquisitely made little fob key. The casting is so crisp and precise as is the hand engraving with every panel showcasing a different very intricate design. The little stag hardstone intaglio seal is great too. Its as nice a thing of its type that we've seen.
If you could find a jeweller (or jewellers) who could make this for you (which you couldn't!) someone would have to cast the metal, carve the intaglio, engrave and polish the gold and it would never be as nicely made as this - the skills are just lost to time - this is why antique jewellery is just...better! Better quality, better materials, built to last and way cheaper than new!

Size and weight: 6.34g ; length 4.5cm, face approx 1.1 x 1.2cm
Materials: 15ct gold, agate intaglio (there is also some steel making up the interior, ie where there is a little square for winding a watch at the end so not 100% is gold weight)
Condition: Excellent, the key end is not misshapen so could still be used to wind a watch although these days these are worn as decorative rather than functional items, it would once have been on a chatelaine attached to a very posh gold watch.
