Description: Classic 5 stone diamond ring (actually there are another 8 tiny diamonds set between the larger stones)set in 18ct yellow gold.
Age: Ring has 1979 London hallmark, the diamonds are much older, OEC / transitional cut, they have quite large culets (the point at the bottom has a flat cut across it, modern stones go to a precise point). The engraved setting is the classic Victorian swirl style so the most likely explanation here is that someone has had granny's ring copied and re-made using the diamonds from the original ring. If the ring was too far gone to repair, this would have been the next best option.
Size and weight: 5g. UK size O and half, US Size just shy of 7.5. This can be re-sized a little but please ask before purchasing.
Materials: 18ct yellow gold, 5 larger old cut diamonds, 8 tiny diamonds. Centre stone is approx 0.35 carats and over a carat in total. We can give a more detailed report into each diamond but suffice to say, they are excellent, no inclusions visible to the naked eye and very white for old cuts. And importantly, super sparkly!
