Description: Very rare to find a good single one let alone a pair - these are very much of their time, very beautiful and a nice piece of social history. The pinchbeck and agate clasps themselves are very much late Georgian / William IV. The velvet embroidered bracelet cuffs have absolutely no business being attached and are 50 years or so later. So if you're a purist, you may prefer to keep the two separate! Having said that, they came to us like this and the embroidery is really lovely, so anyway, either element could be used for other projects or alone or they do team up nicely. Wouldn't be out of place in a museum, on your wrists or as a fancy cabinet item!

Age: Clasps are c1830 William IV, material cuffs are c1880.

Size and weight: Clasps 5cm x 4cm, ribbon 15.5cm x 4cm

Materials: Pinchbeck, banded agate, velvet backed with silk, glass beads.

Condition: Very good condition commensurate with age, please see photos. At least one agate has a crack but this looks like a natural defect rather than damage. The later velvet bracelets have become detached but they could very easily be stitched back on should you wish.
